Equality Commission for Northern Ireland
The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland provides free advice for people who believe they may have been discriminated against.
Various protections exist in relation to age, disability, race, religious or similar philosophical belief, political opinion, sex, married or civil partnership status, pregnancy & maternity, sexual orientation and gender reassignment. These protect against discrimination when:
- working or seeking work
- buying or renting goods, services and housing
- accessing and using educational services
If you believe that you may have been discriminated against, the Equality Commission may be able to help you resolve your situation, or you may be able to bring a complaint to a tribunal or county court.
